Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What’s involved in a consultation?
Firstly, it won’t cost anything. We come and look at your home or apartment, discuss with you what you hope to achieve, how we can help and then come back to you with our suggestions for a staging plan and a very competitive price.
Q. What’s your MARKET READY package and is it all I need?
MARKET READY means we put our buyer’s eye on and literally work alongside you in your home, rearranging, rehanging, removing and re-loving. We help you take the emotion out of the exercise, giving you the confidence to ready your home for your market. That might be all you require.
Q. How does a full home staging service work? What will it cost me?
Stage My Home offers one to five bedroom packages; basic packages generally include one living room, one dining room/area, entrance way, bathroom, kitchen and small outdoor packages if applicable.
Staging is offered for a standard four-week hire with a fifth week available at no cost if still required. We can de-stage at any time through the hire period if buyers want early access or possession.
Costs will be individually quoted. As a guide, a Manuwera property we consulted on cost the developer $1,635 + GST for that basic 3Bdr package. If your property is on the top of a cliff on Waiheke or on the 26th floor downtown, we might need to talk about access.
Q. Do you include garden work and cleaning in the Stage My Home service?
While we can assist with getting great cleaners and wizard gardeners on site for you to help when needed, our service is focused on preparing and presenting the interior in its very best light.
Q. Why should I use staging on my empty property?
People buy houses after making the emotional connection saying that this could become home. Empty properties make that connection difficult, and few people are really able to visualise how furniture and flows may fit in empty rooms.
Vacant properties also make any flaws more visible to buyers, and raise question for buyers as to why this is for sale. The result can often be lower than hoped for purchase offers.
Q. Can I use some of your furniture alongside mine?
Of course you can. PARTIAL STAGINGS are where we work with you to sort key rooms and passageways, helping you see the process objectively and decide what goes, what stays where and complementing this with our extensive selection of vintage and contemporary furniture fittings, bedding and New Zealand art. We are happy to discuss this option with potential clients, and can assist you in arranging for excess furniture and house objects to be stored.
